Wet Scrubbers are effective air pollution control devices for removing particles and/or gases from industrial exhaust streams. A Wet Scrubber operates by introducing the dirty gas stream with a scrubbing liquid – typically water. Particulate or gases are collected in the scrubbing liquid
Advantages of Wet Industrial Scrubbers
- They can effectively prevent most pollutants from entering directly entering the air via exhaust gases
- These scrubbers don’t usually require much space
- Wet scrubbers are able to get rid of corrosive gases
- Nearly all fine particulates should be removed from the gas
- Harmful gases can be collected alongside particulates
- High-humidity and high-temperature gas streams can be properly handled without issue
- Gas streams with explosive or flammable materials can readily be handled with a wet scrubber
- Some of the dry dusts that can accumulate in gas streams are flammable, which isn’t an issue when using a wet scrubber
- Initial costs are relatively low
